It’s that time of year again–the 36th annual Seattle International Film Festival kicks off tonight, Thursday, May 20 and continues through Sunday, June 13. To celebrate the new season, SIFF is hosting an Opening Night Gala at Benaroya Hall tonight, including a screening of The Extra Man and after party.
On the docket for this year’s 25-day festival are 382 films, including 189 narrative feature films, 54 documentary features, 13 archival films and 150 short films, all hailing from 67 countries. Among these are 25 World Premiers (12 feature films, 13 shorts), 36 North American Premieres (24 features, 12 shorts), and 12 US Premiers (6 features, 6 shorts). SIFF films will be showing at 11 venues around town, as well as in Kirkland and Everett. Check out the schedule here.
