Learn about proposed Metro changes tonight

Metro Transit is finalizing their upcoming proposals for service changes in Seattle and want to hear from the public one last time before submitting the plan to the King County Council later this spring. The goal is to make the system more efficient.

These proposals, which have been updated since November 2011 include:

  • Add: RapidRide D Line which will connect Crown Hill and downtown Seattle via Ballard, Interbay, and Uptown. This will replace local service on Route 15.
  • Add: Route 32 between Uptown/Seattle Center and the University District via Elliott Avenue W, 15th Avenue W, Nickerson Street, Fremont, and South Wallingford.
  • Changes to routing frequency: Route 1, the north part of Route 3, Route 5, Route 13, Route 15X, Route 16, Route 18, Route 28, and Route 30.
  • Replaced service: The north part of Route 2 will be replaced by a revised Route 13. The north part of Route 4 will be replaced with alternative service on a more-frequent Route 3. Route 17 will be replaced with alternative service on revised Route 18, revised Route 24, Route 31 (current map), and new Route 32.
  • Deleted: Route 45 will be deleted
  • No changes: Route 19 and Route 31
