Wonderful news for Queen Anne book lovers – the former Queen Anne Books store-front is re-opening under new owners and a new name, Queen Anne Book Company. Yes, that’s right, after shutting its doors on October 31st, there was much discussion in the comments about rebooting Queen Anne Books, and it’s happening. And, it’ll be a locally-owned, independent book store to boot!

Former Queen Anne Books
Soon to be Queen Anne Book Company

Queen Anne Book Company will open in late February in the old Queen Anne Books location at 1811 Queen Anne Ave N with new owners – Queen Anne residents Judy and Krijn de Jonge, and owner/manager Janis Segress. Segress is returning to the neighborhood after working as head buyer at Eagle Harbor Book Company on Bainbridge Island. Some of the former staff will return, and new staff members will join and help welcome Queen Anne residents back to a community book store.

Queen Anne Book Company will sell traditional books as well as e-readers and e-books, and host monthly book groups, book release parties, and author events. Customers can also look forward to the return of a frequent buyer award program and personalized book buying assistance.

According to the new owners, “Queen Anne is a great neighborhood and Queen Anne Book Company is looking forward to becoming an integral and long-standing part of it.”

We’ll be sure to post on the upcoming Grand Opening for Queen Anne Book Company, so the community can welcome back our independent, local book store!
