Remember the coat drives back during the holiday season? Well, winter lasts longer than the month of December, and there are still people in need of warm coats and sweaters. To help out local foster children in need, Queen Anne Elementary is running its 2nd Annual Coat and Sweater Drive this week – Monday, February 4th – Friday, February 8th.

This year the coat drive benefits Treehouse for Kids, a charity that “fills the gaps” for kids in foster care. Queen Anne Elementary will be accepting donations at both main entrances. Donations will help stock the Treehouse “Wearhouse”, a free store where foster kids can shop for clothes, shoes, school supplies, books, toys and other essentials that help them feel good and fit in.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Buy one or more gifts for a foster child
  • Donate “almost” new clothes (coats and sweaters), toys or books
  • Drop off donations in the boxes at either QAE main entrance

You can also give online or mail a check donation– just put “Queen Anne Elementary” on the “Drive Host” line at check-out.
