Getting rid of old electronic items and appliances is a hassle, but that’s what makes free recycling events so handy – you can get rid of bulky items and know they’re being recycled in a responsible manner. Plus, you can also get a tax deduction at the same time.

Friendly Earth is hosting a free recycling event this Saturday, March 9th, at Whole Foods’ Interbay location on 15th W. The event runs from 10am to 2pm, and they’ll accept the following items:

Appliances, Metals, Electronics, Electronic Accessories, Computers, Computer Accessories, Machinery (note: no alkaline batteries)

Friendly Earth is e-Steward, ISO 14001, and R2 Certified. The e-Stewards Certification is a comprehensive, stringent certification and via this certification, Friendly Earth demonstrates its commitment to responsible recycling of electronic waste. The certification requires Friendly Earth to maintain a Zero Landfill Policy and that no products will be sent to third world countries.

If you have old electronics or appliances lying around or taking up space in your basement or garage, head to Whole Foods this weekend and take advantage of Friendly Earth’s free recycling event!
