PacSci Arches ObliterideHave you noticed a new hue to the PacSci arches? During the month of April, PacSci and many other buildings and monuments across Seattle, such as the REI Pinnacle, the Great Wheel, and Waiting for the Interurban, have gone orange for Obliteride.

Cancer touches everyone in one way or another, and Obliteride is a unified community effort to defeat cancer. And, Obliteride is all about the orange.

Obliteride includes a bike ride that runs August 9-11 but it’s more than just a bike ride – it’s a new, community-wide effort to accelerate lifesaving, breakthrough research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Obliteride is about defeating cancer via a unified community effort, and the bike ride is just the grand finale, with 100% of every dollar raised going directly to cancer research.

You can join Obliteride by lighting up you house, trees, or windows – or wear orange on Fridays. And, if you’re interested in joining the bike ride, there are 4 different options: 25 mile, 50 mile, 100 mile, and 180 mile routes. You can see the maps for the routes online, and register online at Obliteride.
