This one just hit our inbox – the Cascade Bicycle Club AmeriCorps interns have partnered with local bike shops to host a free bike tune-up event at the Swedish Cultural Center (1920 Dexter Ave N) tomorrow, Saturday, April 27th, from 11am to 3pm.
This event is the first in a series of Dust Off Days, free bike tune-ups to help get people riding again by encouraging them to get their bikes out of storage and back onto the streets.
Volunteer mechanics from Elliot Bay Bicycles, Montlake Bicycle Shop and WRENCH Bicycle Workshop will provide 20 minutes of free labor per bike, plus a diagnosis of any problems that cannot be addressed in a basic 20-minute tune-up.
Replacement parts will also be available, and helmets will be on sale for just $15. So, dust off that bike and get it over to the Swedish Cultural Center tomorrow – you may just find yourself riding it home!
