QA Fun Run PosterIf you haven’t already registered for the Crown of Queen Anne Fun Run/Walk, make your plans now, as it’s coming up fast – one week from today, next Saturday, July 13th. The annual event benefits the Queen Anne Helpline, so in addition to being a fun way to spend a Saturday morning, all proceeds fund the great work the Queen Anne Helpline does for our neighbors in need.

You can register for the Crown of Queen Anne Fun Run/Walk online or in-person at the Helpline’s office (311 W McGraw). You can pick up your t-shirt and numbers at the Queen Anne Farmers Market this Thursday or at the Helpline office. Registering early is key to help the event, for both planning and for working with the city on permits to close streets. So, register by this Thursday, July 11th!

Race Day Schedule:

  • 7:00am – Number pick up, Queen Anne Lutheran Church, 8th Ave W & W McGraw
  • 8:00am – Start Race (walkers)
  • 8:20am – Start Race (runners)
  • 9:15am – Awards ceremony, Queen Anne Lutheran Church

So what to do if competing isn’t your thing, but you want to help out? Aside from showing up along the course and cheering on the runners and walkers, consider becoming a Volunteer Crossing Guard. These volunteers help make sure the participants can safely cross at intersections along the race route. You must be at least 16 years old, and the time commitment is short (7:30am-9am). If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Ann Pearce at 206.284.0604.

Then, once the race is over, head over to the Queen Anne Days celebration, including the kiddie parade, car show, and sidewalk sale!
