Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Spanky & Eve

Pet of the Week

On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Additionally, the Shelter’s cat foster program hosts monthly adoption events throughout the city where you can meet fabulous felines from our foster homes. Foster kitties are litter box trained and go home with you the same day. Our next cat adoption event is this Saturday, July 13, from noon to 3:00pm at the Bitter Lake Community Center located at 13035 Linden Ave N.

Now, more about Spanky and his pal Eve!

This lovely and loving pair has lived with teenagers and a chinchilla (!), and will be a great addition to a lucky household. Could it be yours? As with all the Shelter’s cats, they have been spayed/neutered.

Spanky 2013-7-11 1Spanky is a beautiful, one year old domestic short hair cat with plush smoky fur and bright green eyes. A bit reserved with strangers, once he gets to know you he is a cuddle bug and will even sleep on your chest if permitted. Though a calm youngster, Spanky also loves to play and is particularly fond of catnip toys, noisy balls and strings. He is a faithful user of his scratching post.

The outgoing Eve has big green eyes, a soft silky coat and a plume tail. At just two years old, this frisky feline is curious and open to everything. Regular playtime will be an important part of her routine, and she can be entertained by almost anything. A very friendly and affectionate girl, Eve loves head scratches, grooming and lap sitting, and is a pro with her scratching post. An active household with lots of human interaction would suit her well.

Eve and Spanky (SAS #13-6523-1 & 2) are at the Seattle Animal Shelter. Cat Adoption Applications are available in the Shelter lobby, or you may download the application and bring it with you to the Shelter or follow the directions to submit it via email or fax.
