Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Two-Two

Pet of the Week

On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

And, through August 11, the Seattle Animal Shelter is having a Pair Affair – adopt a bonded pair of small animals, cats or kittens and pay the adoption fee for only one! The Shelter has a number of bonded pairs of cats, kittens, guinea pigs, bunnies and rats. Come on down and visit these great adoptable duos.

Two Two 2013-8-1 2Hi, my name is Two-Two. There’s only one of me, but I’m ready to bring an extra helping of affection to the wonderful people who take me home. I’m a 10 year old female Rat Terrier and just the right size for a city dog. I’ve had some tough times but you’d never be able to tell when I’m snuggling next to you and looking at you with my big brown eyes. My two favorite things in the whole wide world are humans and blankets. My ideal nap involves having at least one part of my body in contact with my warm human friend and the rest of me covered in a blanket.

I’m a simple, mellow, cooperative girl and I do just fine when my humans are at work. I’m crate-trained and I do great at home as long as you take me outside for my regular potty breaks. I don’t need much exercise but I do enjoy a leisurely walk at least once a day. That’s when I get all those compliments from strangers, you see. After that, I’m ready to come back and continue napping. I’m a little hard of hearing and it’s easy to startle me, so I’d love to join a calm household with some prior dog experience. Be a little patient with me, and I know we’ll be best friends!

Two Two 2013-8-1 3As an older dog, Two Two qualifies for the Shelter’s Senior Citizen Discount program. Senior citizens or disabled adults with a “Gold Card for Healthy Aging” or “FLASH” card, issued by the City of Seattle, may adopt an adult dog (at least six years old) at a special price – the adoption fee is waived and the licensing fee is half-price!

Two Two (SAS #13-6002) is being adored in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, you must submit a Dog Adoption Application to SAS. Download the application and follow the instructions for submission via email or fax. Or you may pick up an application at the Shelter. If you have general questions about this dog, you may call the Shelter’s Animal Care Staff at 206.386.4294.
