We’ve had several readers write in and let us know that the former Blockbuster Video location at 522 Queen Anne Ave N is sporting a new “leased” sign in the window. The location has been vacant since February 2011, and it’s a prime spot across from the Uptown Theatre.

I did some digging, and it looks like a new pet store is on its way to serve Queen Anne and Uptown dogs and cats.

Mud Bay is a family-owned pet supply store that was founded in 1988 by Elsa Wulff, expanding from a “tiny farm store on Mud Bay Road in Olympia” to 24 (soon to be 25) stores in the Puget Sound region.
