According to Zagat.com, Taylor Shellfish is set to open a shop on Lower Queen Anne/Uptown in the spring. Taylor Shellfish currently has a shop at Melrose Market, with the second location planned for the retail level of EXPO apartments at 118 Republican St.
Here’s the scoop from Zagat:
Taylor Shellfish has signed a lease for a new shop in Lower Queen Anne, on the ground floor of EXPO apartments. It’s expected to open next spring.
The first Seattle shop on Melrose debuted in 2011 to rave reviews. Originally intended as a shop to showcase bivavles raised around the Puget Sound, with a small oyster bar, the tables were soon turned as oyster fans poured into the place to feast on Kumamotos, Shigoku and Totten Inlet Virginicas while sipping oyster-friendly wines. Seating expanded, geoduck chowder was added. The shop evolved into more of an eatery, the casual atmosphere warm and inviting. The new spot will have a similar mission.
