Upper Queen Anne 7-Eleven robbed early this morning

The 7-Eleven at 1607 Queen Anne Ave N was robbed this morning around 2:30am. SPD arrived and arrested the suspect in the act. Here’s the scoop from SPD:

Robber was in the act of helping himself to cash when responding officers busted him.

On 2/16/14, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the suspect entered the 7-11 store in the 1600 block of Queen Anne Av N. He threatened to assault the store clerk, who retreated in fear.

The suspect went behind the counter and attempted to pull open the register’s cash drawer, and was in the act of doing this when officers arrived.

The suspect was taken into custody following a minor struggle. There were no injuries to the officers, the store clerk, or the suspect.

The 26-year-old suspect was heavily under the influence of narcotics, and was not coherent in his responses to questions. He was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
