Lahi pop-up at Grub this Monday focuses on modern Filipino cuisine

grub logoGrub is opening its kitchen this Monday, March 3rd for a Lahi pop-up hosted by Chefs Irbille and Justin from the Aragona.

The pop-up will showcase modern Filipino cuisine; Lahi (La­He) in Tagalog “represents lineage, ancestry, a people, a tribe. It speaks about the terroire, the land we are from and the land we now call home as 3rd generation.”

The pop-up opens its doors at 5pm on Monday, and there is open seating with no reservations. First-come, first-served, and here’s what you can get either as a 5-course tasting menu ($40) or a la carte selections:

Lahi Pop Up Menu

1st Course: Sinigang 6
Tamarind soup + glass noodles + longanisa dumpling

2nd Course: Pinakbet 10
Garlic prawns +hearts of palm + watercress + kalrabi +anchovy sauce

3rd Course: Kare Kare 12
Braised beef cheek + eggplant + kabocha squash + peanut sauce + shrimp gel

4th Course: Dinuguan 12
Braised pork tongue +currants + calamansi tapioca + pickled sweet peppers + blood sauce

5th Course: Ube 8
Yam pound cake + yam ice cream + burnt coconut + spiced chocolate dirt + pistachios
