trolley otterWe already know that Queen Anne is a tourist destination, who visits Seattle without the classic Kerry Park photo? But, there’s more for guests to see – the Upper Queen Anne shops, restaurants, neighborhood homes, and urban hiking via our public stairways. And, they’ll get the opportunity to see more of Queen Anne this summer, as the Emerald City Trolley is adding Upper Queen Anne to its route!

While the trolley stop locations and times are still being worked out, Emerald City Trolley tells us that they expect a trolley to stop every 45 minutes near Blaine St and Queen Anne Ave N from May 23rd to September 28th.

trolley skylineThe downtown route already has stops on Lower Queen Anne at the Space Needle and Seattle Center; the new summer route will expand trolley riders’ horizons to Kerry Park and the Upper Queen Anne business district.

Each trolley carries 30-35 passengers and Emerald City Trolley forecasts approximately 17,000 riders this summer season. Local Queen Anne businesses have the opportunity to advertise via the trolley, and Emerald City Trolley’s goal is to “unite the best of what Seattle has to offer-and that certainly includes Queen Anne.”

trolleyThe trolley encourages guests to shop local, and that means more visitors frequenting the Upper Queen Anne shops and restaurants, and experiencing our neighborhood. The Overlook & Locks route includes the Ballard Locks, running Friday-Sunday in May, and 7 days a week June 6th to September 28th.

Seven days a week, 9am-6pm, during the peak summer season means our Queen Anne Farmer’s Market may see an uptick as well. Be sure to welcome our new trolley visitors during the summer!
