Last year, LloydMartin marked April Fool’s Day with Diversion, a Spanish-inspired pop-up from head chef Sam Crannell – and they’re doing it again, celebrating the first of April with a completely new one-night-only restaurant concept.

This year, LloydMartin become Chicharron for a night as a Mexican pop-up restaurant complete with food, drinks, music, and décor inspired by Frida Kahlo and the Day of the Dead. The staff will even be sporting attire inspired by Mexican culture to get everyone in the spirit of the pop-up.

All menu items will be at a price point of $16 or less, with dishes such as Queso Fundido with Mushrooms or Housemade Chorizo, Guacamole, Chips and Salsa, three kinds of ceviche, and several tacos selections with fresh house made tortillas. Chicharron will also have a snow cone machine for margaritas and beverages will include Mexican Coke, Cuba Libres, beer and shots. Plus, all drinks will start at $5.

Chicharron will be open on April 1st only, from 4-10pm. No reservations will be taken for the evening, so stop by at 1525 Queen Anne Avenue N to celebrate April Fool’s Day (Tuesday) with a culinary surprise.
