Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Bingo

Pet of the Week

On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Updates on previous pets:
Elsa (white kitty) – available for adoption
Dante (chihuahua) – available for adoption
China & Vesper (chinchillas) – ADOPTED!
Godiva (black & white kitty) – available for adoption
Murasaki (Calico kitty) – available for adoption
Slim (corn snake) – available for adoption

Meet Bingo!

Bingo is a Black Headed Caique who was found in someone’s backyard! He is absolutely amazingly colored in bright shades of green, yellow, white, orange and black.

Bingo is high energy, friendly and likes to whistle (he’s not a quiet bird!)

Parrots are extremely intelligent and social. They need extensive daily enrichment and interaction with their people and/or other birds. Puzzles containing food or toys/climbing structures for parrots to explore are also great ways to engage a bird’s active mind and encourage physical activity.

Caiques are best suited to a moderately active home with prior parrot experience. If you don’t have experience, please do a LOT of research before inquiring about Bingo. These birds have specific requirements, are very smart and live a long life.

The shelter officers can provide more information about Bingo.

Bingo (SAS ID #14-14695) is at the Seattle Animal Shelter.
