Queen Anne Book Company has been at the forefront of the Indies First movement, thanks to their relationship with Sherman Alexie and just the basic, bare-bones love of books.

Now, it’s time for kids to get psyched about reading with the Indies First Kids Storytime at Queen Anne Book Company. Because of the success of Indies First, children’s author Kate DeCamilla is launching a kids’ version this Saturday, May 17th.

Indies First Kids Storytime is a nationwide event with authors visiting bookstores around the country to read from their children’s books. QABC will have a range of books, from picture books to books for early and middle readers. Plus, book-related craft activities!

Here’s what’s on tap at Queen Anne Book Company:

  • 11:30-12:00pm – Kim Baker, author of Pickle: A novel for ages 8-12 full of hijinks, with a few pranks to share!
  • 1:00-1:30pm – Stephanie Barden, author Cinderella Smith: A series for early readers, ages 5-9.
  • 1:30- 2:00 Elizabeth Rose Stanton, author/illustrator, Henny and Toni Yuly, author /illustrator, Early Bird: Both books are great for the picture book crowd, ages 3-8, plus they can make their own Henny or Bird to take home.

Grab the kids and get them to Queen Anne Book Company this Saturday for Indies First fun!
