The warmer-than-usual Winter and Spring we’ve had must have prompted many to think ahead to garage sale season – we’ve had several readers write in and ask when the Bigelow Block sale will be held, or, as some have described it “that really huge yard sale that spans the East Queen Anne streets.”
Good news, the Bigelow Block Sale will return for its 22nd year this June. As usual, the sale will be the first Saturday in June. In the past, 40-50 homes have participated in the annual multi-block sale – and it’s not just the homes on Bigelow. Adjacent streets/homes join in too, as do young entrepreneurs (aka neighborhood kids) who set up lemonade and cookie stands along the route.
If you live on Bigelow or any neighboring streets and would like to participate, make sure to register in advance. Neighbors chip in $25 per house to participate, with any proceeds from the participation fee beyond the advertising costs going to the Queen Anne Helpline.
