We’ve had several readers ask about the utility work they’ve seen going on in the neighborhood, but I haven’t had a chance to ask the crews what exactly they were doing until today. Turns out they’re splicing the fiber cable to add CenturyLink’s high-speed fiber services.
I contacted CenturyLink and they confirmed the expansion into Queen Anne:
“1 Gbps services to many neighborhoods across Seattle and is starting to expand into your area. Residents can register to receive updates on when the service is available at centurylink.com/gigabit.”
If you’re tired of slow internet speeds or frustrated that there is no choice when it comes to high-speed internet, hope is on the way.
