Henry QACC hallwayYesterday, Google announced that it is donating $344,000 for free WiFi at all 26 Seattle Community Centers, as well as affordable housing developments. The grant extends to our own Queen Anne Community Center, enabling free WiFi at the QACC.

The grant will help QACC improve its public events, classes, camps, and educational programs.

You can read more about Google’s donation and how it’s helping other Community Centers and Seattle Affordable Housing sites here. Good news for Seattle and our own Queen Anne Community Center. You can search for and enroll for QACC classes online.

Another recent move for Queen Anne Community Center is its “Community Access Program”. The Queen Anne Community Center Advisory Board, in conjunction with the QA Community Center Staff, launched the program, allowing all community groups free access to meeting room rentals at QACC.
Henry QACC dogAny community group can sign up to use the QACC meeting areas. All you have to do is stop by the center, work with the staff to determine availability, and fill out a basic application form. Thanks to the Queen Anne Community Center Advisory Council for their goal of making the center a “true center of the community” via helping subsidize the meeting room costs.
First the colorful Henry murals pictured in this post, and now free WiFi courtesy of Google and free space for community meetings – our Queen Anne Community Center just keeps getting better and better!
