Public meeting on Queen Anne Elementary departures is July 20th
Posted on July 16th, 2017 by Laura Fonda
Last month, the City of Seattle held a public meeting on the departures requested for the renovation of and addition to Queen Anne Elementary. However, a resolution to the requested departures was not met, and now another public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 20th at 6pm in the Queen Anne Elementary cafeteria.
Queen Anne Elementary School is requesting departures from Code for the following:
1 – Increased lot coverage
2 – Modification of “required parking spaces”
3 – On-street bus loading and unloading
At Thursday’s meeting, there will be a brief presentation on the requested modifications for the QAE renovation and a period for public comment. The committee will deliberate and consider the District’s requests. Public comment received at the first meeting on June 6th will also be taken into consideration.
Written comments may be submitted by Tuesday, July 18th via email to: maureen.sheehan@seattle.gov.
You can learn more about the changes coming to Queen Anne Elementary here.
Elimination of all off street parking is unacceptable. Seattle Public Schools needs to be held to the standard of a reasonable neighbor. There Should be at least 2 off street parking slots for each class room and half a dozen additional parking slots for administrators and other non-classroom employees.
