The brick building across the street from the Queen Anne Library that most recently served as a storage facility for Seattle Public Library will soon become home to 27-28 apartments. Originally the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Garfield Exchange Building, the building is a Seattle Landmark. You can read more about its history here.
The developer heading up the project, Faul, is hosting a public meeting on Saturday to discuss the planned renovation and alteration of the building at 1529 4th Ave W. The project includes façade restoration, a new top floor penthouse addition, the construction of 27 or 28 residential apartments, 14 parking spaces in the lower level, a seismic retrofit, accessibility and energy code upgrades, and site improvements.
The meeting is open to the public. It will be held at the Queen Anne Library from 11:30am to 12:30pm tomorrow, Saturday, July 22nd. All are welcome to join to hear about the project and ask questions.
