Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Princess

Local News, Pet of the Week

A 13-pound Princess is waiting for you!

This sweet lady is a terrier mix of 4 years old who can be shy at first, but adjusts quickly once acquainted. Princess has settled nicely into her foster home this past June, at first with a nursing puppy who has already been adopted. She is surrounded by other foster and family dogs, both large and small. Her favorite is her brother King Charles! They cuddle and sleep together.

Princess is a lovely dog who enjoys to cuddle and being near people. She would do great with someone who wants a loyal companion! She also can be left alone for several hours during the day and will behave as a royalty member. She is excellent on a leash and loves her daily walks. Whenever she sees someone heading for the front door, where the leashes are hung, she starts jumping for joy but patiently waits for the leash to be fastened.

Princess would really appreciate someone who wants to work with her to lessen her fear of unknown noises, people and canines. Her anxiety has greatly diminished thanks to her foster family, but it still occasionally presents itself. She has been through a lot! Someone who can give her consistency and stability will make a huge difference in her behavior.

Princess (ID 35752931) is enjoying herself at a foster home, so you won’t find her at the Shelter. If you would like to meet her, you must first submit a Dog Adoption Application to SAS. Download it from here and email it to the Seattle Animal Shelter Foster Dog Program at Alternatively, you may pick up and drop off an application at the Shelter.

Disclaimer: Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet. Happy adopting!
