SPU solid waste pickup shifts a day for the upcoming holiday weeks

Posted on December 21st, 2017 by Laura Fonda

Heads up – garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickup will be shifted one day for all Seattle Public Utilities customers for the next two holiday weeks. Here are the details from SPU:

All solid waste services (garbage, food and yard waste and recycling) for all customers will be delayed, by one day, on all days December 25, 2017 – January 5, 2018. With Christmas and New Year’s Day both falling on Mondays, there will be no solid waste collection on December 25th or January 1st. As a result, all solid waste pickups will shift one day to allow SPU contractors to service the entire city.

Collections will be delayed by one day from normal schedules (e.g. collections for Monday will occur on Tuesday, Tuesday collections will occur on Wednesday, and so on). Customers should set containers out by 7 a.m. to ensure collection.
