Kids can learn new dance moves from the Huskies Dance Team at the QACC

UW Huskies Dance Team

The University of Washington Huskies Dance Team is hosting a Huskies Dance Clinic at the Queen Anne Community Center that’ll help raise scholarship money for QACC families.  The clinic is designed for kids ages 5-14 of all dance levels and abilities:

“This is a great opportunity for young dancers to learn Hip Hop, Jazz and other dance forms and meet the University of Washington Huskies Dance Team. In a partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Huskies Dance Team has agreed to teach this exciting six hour workshop before making an appearance at the United Spirit Association Collegiate Championships.”

The dance fun takes place at the QACC on Saturday, March 2nd from 10am to 4pm. Snacks will be provided, but kids should bring a sack lunch. It’s $55 per person, with proceeds benefitting QACC scholarship funds. Sign up online with barcode “102850” or register in person at QACC.

Senior Resource Fair will be at QACC February 25th

The Help Me Enjoy My Life Resource Fair has merged with Seattle Parks and Recreation this year to bring the Senior Resource Fair 2013 to the Queen Anne Community Center.

If you’re a senior and would like to attend, mark your calendars for Monday, February 25th from 10am-2pm. The FREE fair will have tables from many local organizations that provide valuable resources to the community. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to connect with other seniors!

The organizers are not only extending an invitation to local seniors to visit the fair, but also to groups, businesses, or organizations that would like to participate. If you’d like to have a table at the Senior Resource Fair for your organization, please contact Robin O’Leary via email or at 206.684.4240 or Lynette Douglass via email or at 206.352.7140. Note: the deadline for organizations is tomorrow, Friday, February 8th.
