There was more gun activity near Seattle Center this weekend. According to a report by SeattleCrime.com, police were called to the 300 block of 5th Ave N early Sunday morning after a patroling gang unit detective heard shots fired in the area.

According to the police report, the detective heard “gunshots coming from the area of Club Diamond” at approximately 1:20 a.m., after which he witnessed six black males run towards Seattle Center.

Police were able to track down five of the men, one of which who was identified as the gunman. Gang detectives took the men to the precinct where they were interviewed. One of the five, identified as a convicted felon, was booked and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. According to SeattleCrime,

Jail records indicate that this is the second time the 23-year-old man has been arrested on gun charges in the last two months.

This is not the first time SPD officers have responded to reports of shots fired outside Club Diamond – a similar call was made back in December. From SeattleCrime,

Police spokesman Mark Jamieson says no one was injured in the incident, but says officers found bullet holes in three vehicles parked near the scene of the shooting, as well as the wall of the Experience Music Project, which is across the street from Club Diamond.
