After seven years at 523 1st Avenue W in Lower Queen Anne, Peridot Boutique is in the midst of a move to the former Underdawg Records space at 532 Queen Anne Ave, which we first reported on last week.

I connected with Peridot owners Minh and Nhung, who provided some more information about the move and what this will mean for the store.

“We have always wanted to be on “Queen Anne Ave” but there never wasn’t any opportunity for us to do so.  And now that there is, we’re taking the big leap!” wrote Minh Nguyen, adding that the ‘soft target’ for opening is Friday, April 15.

“We wanted to keep the same homey and open atmosphere as our space on 1st,” she said. The new store will include recycled wood pieces from the former location and will be painted in colors “you would find at a coffee shop; vanilla lattes, ice espressos and ice green tea. Fun and relaxing!”

The space, which is also a bit larger than the current location, will give Peridot an opportunity to offer a larger variety of clothes, shoes, handbags and jewelry, according to Nguyen. The store also plans to experiment by bringing in more jeans and some specialty items, like yoga wear, she said.

Peridot’s price point will stay the same, Nguyen noted, with all items under $100, and the average price for a dress at about half that.
