Last week, the students presented a $215 check to the Salvation Army Divisional Commander, Major Doug Tollerud. The funds go to The Salvation Army Warm Home Fund, which provides short-term emergency bill payment assistance to Puget Sound Energy (PSE) customers facing financial difficulties. This is the tenth year that Seattle Country Day students have raised money for the fund. Adding to the students’ collection, PSE donated a $50,000 corporate contribution.

“Since its inception in 1982, The Salvation Army Warm Home Fund, which receives donations from PSE owners, customers and employees, has helped more than 150,000 families in 11 Washington state counties where the utility provides electric and natural gas service,” the press release states.
