The Interbay P-Patch Garden kicks off its 2012 Food Bank Gardening Season on Tuesday, April 17, at 5:30PM. Every year, Interbay P-Patch donates more than 5,000 pounds of fresh, organic veggies to Ballard Food Bank, Mary’s Place and St. Martin’s on Westlake. Well over half of that produce is grown in the food bank beds by their team of volunteers.

First established in 1974, the Interbay P-Patch was one of the earliest P-Patches in Seattle, full of many enthusiastic gardeners ranging from the brand new gardener to the well-seasoned master. This year they have added a blog to continue to build their community and share their love of gardening with everyone.

Join the gardeners to celebrate the start of gardening season one week from today for a little weeding, a little planting, the traditional first kale harvest, and some hot soup. April 17, 5:30PM, 2451 15th Ave W.
