Weekend Roundup – On & Around Queen Anne

Perhaps it’s a sign of the end of summer or just a coincidence, but our list of events around Queen Anne is fairly short this week — but the traffic impacts are long and complicated! Only the Sounders are at home this week, the Seahawks and Huskies are away, and the Mariners and Storm wrapped their seasons earlier this week. While there are fewer sports events to slow things down, there will surely be traffic headaches with the Viaduct closed and the Aurora Bridge down to one lane in each direction.

Weekend Traffic Impacts:
Mercer: Thursday, October 4th – Thursday, October 11 (estimated), 7:30pm to 6:00am (no work on the weekend)
Intermittent weeknight single-lane closures on I-5 on- and off-ramps

Viaduct Closed: 6am Saturday, October 6 – 4pm Sunday, October 7
Both directions of the Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed from just north of the Battery Street Tunnel to the West Seattle Bridge for semi-annual maintenance.

Aurora Bridge: 9pm Friday, October 5 – 2pm Sunday, October 7
Traffic reduced to one lane in each direction.
Beginning at 2pm Sunday, October 7, lane closures will be adjusted to accommodate Sounders traffic as follows:
– 2pm-3pm: Two southbound lanes and one northbound lane will be open
– 3pm-7pm: All southbound lanes and one northbound lane will be open
– 7pm-10pm: One southbound lane and all northbound lanes will be open
– 10pm Sunday, October 7 – 5am Monday, October 8: One northbound and one southbound lane will be open
– All lanes reopen 5am Monday, October 8

Aurora Bridge: Monday, October 8 – Friday, October 12, 10pm-5am
Fremont Way N southbound on-ramp to the Aurora Bridge will be closed nightly
