According to our contacts at SDOT, the Ballard Bridge will be undergoing electrical tests today that will result in the bridge opening and closing every half hour.
The test openings will run from now until 4pm today (Tuesday, April 23) and “may resume again at 6pm”. SDOT promises to keep the openings “as brief as possible” but they will still impact traffic to and from Ballard. Openings for boats will be coordinated with the test openings to minimize traffic delays.
SDOT advises allowing for extra time crossing the Ballard bridge or taking an alternate route.
