We’ve had quite a few readers write in about the new vet clinic that’s under construction next to the Chase Bank at 20 Mercer St (former Easy Street Records spot). Thanks to everyone who’s sent in tips, here’s the scoop on the new business set to move into Lower Queen Anne/Uptown.

Mercer Street VetMercer Street Veterinary Hospital will be opening soon to serve Queen Anne and Uptown pets. It now has a web site with info on the practice and a red “coming soon” at the top of the page, so you can check out the practice’s vets and services online.

Almost a month ago, we contacted Madison Street Animal Hospital, one of the vet clinics in the practice, about the new location. At the time, they were still obtaining permits and in the midst of construction. Fast forward to today, and they have a tentative opening date of January 5th.

Mercer St Vet mapAccording to our contact at Madison Street Animal Hospital, the new practice will be a small animal practice, similar to their current locations on Madison Street and in Kirkland. The vets on staff will see cats, dogs, rabbits, and “pocket pets” – the latter two will be vet-specific, meaning that certain vets in the practice will specialize in these somewhat unique pets.

The new hospital will also offer discounted services to senior citizens and pre-approved local area rescue groups. Plus, the clinic will provide emergency services, with a veterinarian and staff on duty 7 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle urgent care situations.

The new clinic will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood, plan on stopping by in the January timeframe and checking out the services they’ll be offering our local pets!
