QA Greenways LogoOur friends at Queen Anne Greenways are hosting their monthly meeting tonight, and they need your help! Are there areas of Queen Anne that are or have become dangerous for pedestrians? Nominate them as a project for the group to champion.

Some examples that have been sent to us as blog post ideas:

– Pedestrian crossing areas near Trader Joe’s and Bartell – pedestrians not using the crosswalk

– No crosswalk painted at Newton St (from Pharmaca to Helen’s)

– Need for stop signs at Wheeler St and 4th Ave N

And, from Queen Anne Greenways:

Find out how you can nominate a project and help make it a reality. Is there a street you would like to make safer for pedestrians and cyclists? Is there an intersection you would like to improve? Is there a transportation policy matter that needs to be addressed?

Also, come see what you can do to restore Queen Anne’s 20 mph zone!  Recently, the Seattle Department of Transportation proposed creating a safe and calm traffic zone on top of the hill but the Queen Anne Community Council rejected it.  Help us fight to get it back.

If you have ideas to add, plan on attending Queen Anne Greenways meeting tonight at 400 W Garfield St at 6:30pm. All are welcome to attend.  (same place as usual, 6:30 PM) to help set priorities.
