Helpline logoThanksgiving is a little over 2 weeks away, but for low-income seniors, it’s looming large and can be a lonely holiday without the staples of a traditional holiday meal. Luckily, Queen Anne seniors have the Queen Anne Helpline, and you can help the Helpline make Thanksgiving happen this year for up to 100 seniors.

The Helpline is putting together Thanksgiving grocery bags for low-income senior residents of Queen Anne, Magnolia, and South Lake Union. Volunteers will deliver groceries the day before Thanksgiving and you can help in several ways by signing up to:

– purchase grocery items from a list by Thursday, November 19th

– pack grocery bags on Monday, November 23rd

– deliver groceries on Wednesday, November 25th

The Queen Anne Helpline has partnered with All Saint’s Church to help make Thanksgiving a festive occasion for up to 100 senior neighbors. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, all you need to do is sign up here to pick a volunteer activity. It can be as simple as purchasing the listed food items from a local grocery store!

As always, many thanks in advance to the Helpline for making our neighborhood a great place to live and give back at the same time!
