Pistil Design called the Galer Crest building at the top of the Counterbalance for three years as of this past January. It was still around 4 weeks ago, when I snapped a shot of their sign for Instagram. But, a few weeks later and the shop was vacant, with a new “for lease” sign gracing the window instead of the cheery flowers sign.
Readers have also asked about Pistil, and we now have the news – which isn’t all bad, but rather an interim step.
The shop’s lease expired at the Queen Anne Ave & Galer St location, and the owners didn’t want to renew. Instead, they’re now working out of a small studio space on Queen Anne for delivery only.
They’re working on a new location, and when things are finalized, we’ll be able to share more news on our local flower shop. It’ll be a Pistil 2.0 of sorts, as the new inception of Pistil will be set up as a design studio versus a retail shop. All of the regular services will be available, but on a custom basis only.
