Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Odie

Pet of the Week

On Fridays, we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Tuesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Lady Bug (sweet and friendly Miniature Pinscher) – available for adoption
Mr. Butters (fabulous family cat) – available for adoption
Mama (dedicated lap cat) – available for adoption – new photos on Petfinder

Odie 1Meet Odie!

Resilient, loyal and intelligent is the best way to describe this beautiful boy. Odie is also a ton of fun, loves to swim and is the epitome of happy go lucky. He truly believes that everyone he meets is a potential friend and he’s rock solid with all the comings and goings of city life.

Odie’s favorite thing in life is food and he’s pretty much on a mission to make sure he doesn’t miss a tasty snack, because of this he is super trainable and easy to work with. He already knows his basic commands – sit, stay, come, wait and down – and knows how to army crawl.  Check out his video below to see how cute this guy really is!

Odie 5Odie is an adult, neutered male, Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. He has a medium energy level; he’s not a jogger but he does love the opportunity to be out and about as much as possible.

Odie is a big strong boy but his love of people and treats make him easy to manage. He deserves a home experienced with big dogs and willing to let his personality shine. He has no prey drive and could live with dog savvy cats, and he’s house trained. Odie really is a unique and special boy, stop by the shelter to learn more about him.

Editor’s Note: see how popular Odie is with the SAS staff – they are really rooting for him to find a forever home!
