This weekend, two events are happening around the neighborhood that support local independent artists and makers. Urban Craft Uprising returns to the Seattle Center this Saturday and Sunday at the Expo Hall. The event is in its 13th year and is free and open to all. It’s the largest indie craft show in Seattle, with over 150 artists and makers expected to be selling their wares.
On a smaller scale, the Mini Maker Pop-up returns to Upper Queen Anne with a dozen artists. It’s also free and open to all. The artists on hand include Shelli Markee and her sons. Shelli will be selling her jewelry, her sons – age 15 and 17 – will be selling their Refuse Goods line. The boys have had their own business, run with the help of their father, Brent Markee) for the last 3 years.
